Courses for teenagers – Lake Constance

Lindau is a city in the state of Bavaria. Our program is carried out in the old part of the city, on an island northwest of Lake Costance. To get to the new part of the city, it is necessary to cross over a viaduct or a bridge until you reach the mainland.

It is a strategic place to study German since it is surrounded by three German-speaking countries of Europe: Austria, Switzerland and Germany.

How to get to Lago Costance: The city does not have an airport, so you have the possibility to fly to other nearby cities and get to the place using the following options:

* From Friedrichshafen (25 km): by car / bus and ferry (40 min.)

* From Zurich (75 km): train connection every hour to Constance (1 h.)

* From Stuttgart (170 km): tram every 20 min. to Stuttgart Central Station; Regular train connection to Constance (2.5 h.)

* From Munich (230 km): by train (5 h.) or car (3.5 h.) to Constance.

* From Frankfurt / Main (345 km): direct train connection (4.5 h.) to Constance.

The students of the German Course in Lake Constance can be accommodated in host families or hostels.

The host families are open-minded and enjoy the international atmosphere brought to Landau by students who come from all over the world. These families aren’t always the classic ones, as there could be families formed by single parents.
The fact that the participants live together with a family makes them fully integrated in German life.
Hostel Lindau is specifically directed at international youth: it is supervised 24/7 and has got connections to a big number of bus lines.

The students are accommodated in shared rooms with 4 beds. Full board provided.

The German course in Lake Constance is taught by a team of highly qualified, experienced and dynamic teachers.
The teachers make sure that the students are very motivated by implementing a variety of attractive and interesting didactic materials in class.
On the first day of class, students take a level test to be placed in a group corresponding to their level. It is necessary to know that in order to enter the course, previous knowledge of the language is required.

The program is a total of 30 weekly lessons, which are distributed as following: 20 morning and 10 afternoon lessons. In the afternoon, lessons are conveyed in a more «active» and «creative» way.

Both programs are based on experiences and outdoor education. The difference between «active» and «creative» German is that meanwhile the first one is focused on sport activities, the other one focuses on crafts, workshops and arts in general.

The students choose the specific afternoon program of their wish when registering to the course and have the option to change it in the camp.

The language levels range from A1 to B2.
