The city – Oxford

Oxford is located in the south central region of England, less than 90 km from London. It is a small city with a population of approximately 120,000 inhabitants.

There are two universities, the largest and the most famous one is the Oxford University and the other one is Oxford Brookes, listed as the «best new University of 2008» in Great Britain.
There are around 30,000 students from all over Britain and abroad, who also live in Oxford.

Getting to Oxford: Oxford is well-communicated with the airports of London, from where it is possible to reach Oxford in half an hour via taxi or a bus.

The students of the English course in Oxford have two accommodation options: host family and residence.

Host family: students are accommodated in double rooms. They have breakfast and dinner at home, the meals are held with the rest of the classmates (picnic type).

The weekends, meals are made with the family (even if there is an excursion, they prepare a sandwich or some take-away food).

Most of our families are between 10 and 25 minutes by bus from school, but we also have some families near the school and from which you can go on foot.

Residence: our residence has different floors with individual rooms, kitchen and common room. In addition, in the residence there is a common leisure room and laundry (for a fee).

Meals and dinners are held in the school´s dining room. Breakfast is at the residence.

There is a weekly room cleaning service. The students only have to bring bathroom linen and a hairdryer, the bedding is provided by the residence.

The residence is a few minutes by bus from the school.

In both cases, the lodging regime is full board.

The school of the English course in Oxford performs a level test to the students before arriving at the school to place them at the levels that best suit their needs.

Classes focus on practice, especially on oral English. We also work skills, such as: listening, reading, writing, grammar in contexts, pronunciation, fluency, etc. The highly qualified native teachers motivate the students to participate actively in the classes.

The course is a total of 15 hours per week of English class (3 hours a day from Monday to Friday).

The schedules vary each week. Therefore, if one week the student goes to class in the morning, the next week he/she will go in the afternoon (and vice versa). These are the schedules:

In addition to general English classes, students can take an official exam preparation course, both Cambridge and Trinity.
