The whereabouts in the USA or CANADA

The immersion program in the United States takes place in suburban areas, almost always close to such important cities as Los Angeles, Sand Diego, Philadelphia, Lancaster of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania. The idea is that the student enjoys a quiet stay but also can enjoy the hustle and bustle of a big city if he wishes so.
In Canada the program takes place in the incredible areas of Vancouver and Calgaryn; in cities like High River, Cochrane, Strathmore, Langley and Drumheller. Those who do the immersion in Canada have the option of taking part in a Canadian Camp with adventure sports, festival workshops and much more.

Objective of the language immersion program

The main objective of the program of total immersion in family and without classes, as its name indicates, is that the student is immersed in the language and culture of the country of destination throughout his stay, avoiding any contact with Spanish. In this way, he/she can learn English just by living with a family without having to attend classes.
This program is indicated for boys and girls who have been able to enjoy the experience of doing a program abroad previously and whose level of English is around a B1.
This program is something special and perhaps not for everyone, since the boy or the girl has to understand the essence of the program. You have to try to be communicative and able to easily adapt to new situations, as well as having a strong desire to live with a family and discover new ways of life and different customs.
This program has a high level acceptance because it does not only improve the level of English, but it also serves to live and discover firsthand how to live in another country: different customs, gastronomy, habits, etc.
The student will be incorporated into the daily routine of the family and will become its part. It is important that the student takes the programme as a great opportunity to discover a new culture and meet new friends.

 Accommodation

The selection of families for the American or Canadian family immersion program is done through our local coordinator. This is the one who meets with families who have shown great interest in hosting a student to share their customs and way of life.
The families usually have children of the same age or of approximate ages to those of the students they host, so that integration is easier for all.
Before traveling we will give the student an informative dossier with all the information and details of the family.
During the stay, the student has to adapt to the daily routine of the family and not the other way around. It is the case of very active families and others not so much, which must be understood from the beginning.
It is important to bear in mind that not only will they create ties with children of their age, but also to all family members, neighbours, etc …
All along the stay each family hosts only one foreigner student.
We want our students to live and learn the American culture and at the same time improve their level of English.
Important note: The identities of the families are given to the students 15 days before the departure, due to the selection of each family to the profile of our student, never before.

Dates

The dates of the family immersion programs are quite flexible. The program can be carried out from the second part of June up till the end of August.

The minimum stay of the total immersion program without an English class is 4 weeks and can be done in July or August.

The arrival day may vary depending on the destination you are traveling to. It is necessary to coordinate with us beforehand.

SOCIAL PROGRAM

The student will do all the leisure and sports activities that the members of the family do at no charge. However, if the family pays for an activity that their son or daughter is going to do, the student will have to pay the same amount in case they are eager to participate in the same activity.
