Chester is situated in the northwest of England, bordering with Wales, and is one of the most beautiful cities in England thanks to the walls that surround it.
Its architecture makes every corner of the city remember its history: from the Roman amphitheater to the magnificent medieval buildings with half-timbered. In fact, walking through its streets is like going back to the Middle Ages.

Chester is a vibrant and dynamic city and also has a huge cultural heritage. Students can enjoy theater, cinema, different museums, its river, parks, its cathedral and different shopping centers. You can also visit the city of the Beatles as it is not far away.
Getting to Chester: Flying to Liverpool or Manchester airport are the two options on how to get to Chester. There is a great variety of flights provided by low cost companies. In fact, it is an ideal destination for a weekend getaway from anywhere in Spain.

 The school

The school of the English course in Chester for Seniors was founded in 1976 is recognized by the British Council for its teaching of the English language.
The school has 12 well-equipped classrooms, a library, multimedia rooms with free internet access and fantastic gardens where students can socialize with other colleagues during breaks.

 Accommodation

Host family: The students of the English course in Chester are accommodated in individual or shared rooms, depending on availability.
Includes breakfast and dinner from Monday to Sunday. The distance between families and the school is about 20 minutes by bus and there is only one Spanish native per family.
Residence: you are accommodated in a single room with private bathroom, without meals. The room has wifi connection and is located 6 minutes awaya from the school.

The arrival to the accommodation is the Sunday before the beginning of the course and the departure is the Saturday after the end of it.

 The classes

The school of the English course in Chester offers 20 weekly classes of 45 minutes.
This course focuses on spoken English in everyday situations of daily life.
The average number of students per class is 10.
Three levels are offered: Beginner (A1-A2), Intermediate (B1-B2) and Advanced (C1)

SOCIAL PROGRAM:

This English course at Chester for Seniors includes a package of socio-cultural activities after school. The program includes activities three afternoons a week and a full day excursion during the weekend. Participants, accompanied by school staff, will visit the Chester Cathedraland various tourist attractions in both: the city and its surroundings.
Examples of places that are visited:
  • Peak District National Park.
  • Liverpool.
  • Manchester.
In addition, the school offers other optional activities at an extra cost, which students can complete if they wish.
These activities help to meet other students and to put the language into practice.
