The city – all around Ireland

The Immersion program takes place all over Ireland, although we have more families in the eastern part of the country. Families can be located anywhere in Ireland, whether in urban or rural areas.
Mayo, Kildare, Meath and Wicklow are the most common counties we send our students to.
We carry out this program in Ireland, since the Irish are well known for their hospitality and sympathy.
Getting to Ireland: The most usual thing is to land at the Dublin airport. Once there, the family would pick up the student.
Thanks to the cheap flights offered by the Irish airlines Ryanair y Aer Lingus, Dublin has become an ideal destination for a weekend getaway from anywhere in Spain.

Objetivo del programa de inmersión lingüística en Irlanda

The main objective of the program of total immersion in family and without classes, as its name indicates, is that the student is immersed in the language and culture of the country of destination throughout his stay, avoiding any contact with Spanish. In this way, he/she can learn English just by living with a family without having to attend classes.
This program is indicated for boys and girls who have been able to enjoy the experience of doing a program abroad previously and whose level of English is around a B1.
This program is something special and perhaps not for everyone, since the boy or the girl has to understand the essence of the program. You have to try to be communicative and able to easily adapt to new situations, as well as having a strong desire to live with an Irish family and discover new ways of life and different customs.
This program has a high level acceptance because it does not only improve the level of English, but it also serves to live and discover firsthand how to live in another country: different customs, gastronomy, habits, etc.
The student will be incorporated into the daily routine of the family and will become its part. It is important that the student takes the program as a great opportunity to discover a new culture and meet new friends.

 Accommodation

The selection of families for the Irish family immersion program is made through our coordinator in Ireland. This is the one who meets with families who have shown great interest in hosting a student to share their customs and their way of living.
The families usually have children of the same age or of approximate ages to those of the students they host, so that integration is easier for all.
Before traveling we will give the student an informative dossier with all the information and details of the family.
During the stay, the student has to adapt to the daily routine of the family and not the other way around. It is the case of very active families and others not so much, which must be understood from the beginning.
It is important to bear in mind that not only will they create ties with children of their age, but also to all family members, neighbors, etc …
In some cases students may share a family with a student of another nationality.

The experience we have had so far has been very good and often helped to make the adaptation process faster. Being of different nationalities, the students have to continue communicating in English.

Apart from learning English, we want our students to live and learn the IRISH culture.
Important note: The identity of the Irish family is given to the students 15 days before the departure, due to the selection of each family to the profile of our student, never before.

Dates:

The dates of the Irish family immersion program are quite flexible. The program can be carried out from the second part of June up till the end of August.

The minimum stay of the  immersion program without the language course is 2 weeks and the maximum time to do it is 4 weeks.

The arrival day may vary depending on the destination you are traveling to. It is necessary to ask us beforehand, as some places require you to travel on Wednesdays.

SOCIAL PROGRAM

This year the program gives the option to attend an excursion or activity, once a week with a group of participants staying in the same area. This is optional and has a small extra cost.

The student will do all the leisure and sports activities that the members of the family do at no charge. However, if the family pays for an activity that their son or daughter is going to do, the student will have to pay the same amount in case they are eager to participate in the same activity.

This excursion program is carried out mainly during the month of July, including two different trips to Ireland.

Saturday, June 31 Wexford & Hook Head
Saturday, July 8 Dublin
Saturday, July 15 Kilkenny
Saturday, July 22 Dublin
Saturday, July 28 Waterford & New Ross
