IRELAND – DUBLIN

Tourbel conducts English courses with stays in host families and residential courses in different locations in Ireland. The courses are of 3/4 weeks long. The official currency in Ireland is the Euro (€).

ENGLISH LANGUAGE COURSES

All of our programs in Ireland include an English course, which is developed in collaboration with a number of Irish organizations TOURBEL has cooperated with for years. All courses include an initial level test, which is done on the first day of the course (except the tutoring program). The duration of the classes can be from 45 to 60 minutes. Students are given the textbook on loan. The attendance  is mandatory. In case of no attendance the school will not give the certificate of completion of the course. Classes cancelled due to official holidays or for other causes, such as strikes etc., are neither recoverable nor reimbursable.

ACCOMMODATION

According to the programme, the course includes accommodation in a host family´s house or a residence. When choosing the first option you need to be aware that the families usually dwell in residential areas and towns in the outskirts of the city where the course takes place. Providing the student has a full board regime, the host family prepares a lunch box to take to school. Students share a room. It is common for families to host several students of different nationalities at the same time. Families are responsible for the student’s laundry (the frequency depends on each family). Irish society is increasingly multi-cultural and the characteristics of host families in some cases may not obey the traditional family model or couples with children. It is also very common for families to have pets at home. The organizations try to assign a single Spanish-speaking student to each family, although they reserve the right to lodge two students in the same house in exceptional cases or force majeure, or in the case that 2 students request to share a room.
The rules of conduct, customs and habits, meals, schedules, distances and lifestyle, in general, are often very different from the way of life in our country. In this sense, it is the participant who has to adapt to them, both, in the case of programmes with host families as well as in residential programmes.

ACTIVITIES AND EXCURSIONS

All courses include activities and/or excursions designed for a group of students. The activities and excursions vary according to the destination in which the program is carried out. The activity plan is delivered to the students before the start of the trip. Attendance at the activities and excursions included in the program is mandatory. In the case of programmes with accommodation in the house of a host family, if a student does not wish to attend the evening activities and prefers to stay at home, he/she must notify the group leader and the host family beforehand. The excursions, activities and visits may vary depending on weather conditions or by decision of the organization.
